Nice to meet you.
I’m Lucy, a senior Music Business student with a passion for storytelling through sound, visuals, and strategy.
My work explores the worlds artists build, whether that’s through case studies that break down release strategies and brand storytelling, or through concert photography that captures what words can’t. Along the way, I’ve interviewed artists on the radio, worked in music supervision, and produced podcasts that explore the many ways music connects us.
Below, you’ll find a curated portfolio of my work to date, each project highlighting a different aspect of my creative and professional journey. So feel free to take a look around and reach out.
Industry Experience
I’ve had the opportunity to work with Venice Music, a music distribution and artist development platform, as a Growth & Brand Marketing Intern across two terms. My first six-month term ran from June to December 2024, and I returned in June 2025 to continue contributing to Venice’s editorial, strategic, and growth initiatives.
At Venice, my work lives at the intersection of artist strategy, storytelling, and audience growth. I primarily develop long-form case study blog posts that break down how major and emerging artists approach releases, branding, and fan engagement, translating industry-level tactics into clear, actionable frameworks independent artists can realistically apply.
Impact highlights include:
Scaling Venice’s blog traffic from ~600 daily visits to 23,000+ daily visits through SEO-driven content strategy
Publishing 30+ in-depth case studies, many of which continue to rank on Google for artist-strategy and release-planning keywords
Driving 660K+ total views and 2.8M+ total reach across case study content and related campaigns
Generating 7,400+ email signups and 3,000+ downloads, demonstrating strong reader engagement and conversion beyond surface-level traffic
Contributing to evergreen content that continues to perform months after publication through long-tail search and internal discovery
Through this role, I’ve developed hands-on experience with how distribution, branding, SEO, and narrative-driven marketing intersect, while helping Venice position itself as both a distribution platform and a trusted educational resource for independent artists.

Further Experience
Over the summer, I interned with Creative Control Entertainment under Joel C. High, an award-winning music supervisor and founder of the Guild of Music Supervisors. Working alongside his team gave me firsthand insight into the creative and logistical process behind film and television sync.
During my internship, I:
Assisted with music research and sync pitching across active productions.
Supported clearance workflows, cue sheet organization, and metadata review.
Studied how supervisors bridge creative direction with legal and budgetary needs.
Contributed to music discovery that aligned with narrative tone and emotional context.
The experience taught me how creative instinct and strategic coordination come together in music supervision, a skill set that now informs my work in artist marketing, brand partnerships, and storytelling.
Concert Photography
I also work as a concert photographer, shooting both paid assignments and coverage through Denver Lynx Radio. My focus is on capturing live performances with attention to atmosphere, movement, and the connection between artists and their audience, documenting shows as they unfold rather than staging moments.
Selected photos are included below.
Journalism
At Denver Lynx Radio, the University of Colorado Denver’s student-run radio station, I currently serve as Vice President and have previously held the role of Co-Editor-in-Chief of Press. I’ve written concert reviews and cultural coverage spanning music, film, and campus events, focusing on capturing live performance, creative process, and the context surrounding the work. Podcasting
Previously, I served as Podcast Manager and Chief Sound Engineer for Open Frequencies, a “spoken-magazine” podcast produced by Denver Lynx Radio. In this role, I oversaw end-to-end production across editorial planning, recording, and post-production, and led the show’s rebrand into its current multi-host, segment-driven format. Each episode featured a range of content, including music industry news, pop culture commentary, artist interviews, and coverage of local shows and events.
Music by “lucy pi”
Alongside my work in journalism and music marketing, I release music independently under the name “lucy pi.” I write, record, and produce everything myself, approaching songwriting and production as one continuous process.
The music inhabits a more introspective, atmospheric space, designed for focused listening rather than background noise. I recently released a new single, with more on the way.
My music is available on all major streaming platforms.
